LIMEWASH PAINT WITH SEALER FOR BATHROOM WALLS IS THE WINNER!

We get a lot of questions about the types of paint that should be used for bathroom projects. We will be going more into details here but in-short; we can not think of a better finish than Lime Paint for bathrooms when it is used with our Sealer on top.

Even though we are a HUGE fan of Tadelakt we also know that it requires a certain skill set, and should be be applied by plaster artisans to ensure proper water resistance on surfaces in direct contact with water such as shower walls.

Back to the lime paint discussion for bathroom walls - it can be used outside the shower area- generally the shinier the paint sheen, the easier it is to clean and the better it resists moisture. Many people recommend using a semi-gloss in bathrooms since it virtually repels moisture. Eggshell and satin sheens are also recommended if your bathroom doesn’t get a lot of use—like a guest bathroom.

Lime Paint itself has a matte finish however when it is applied with one of our Sealers the walls become wipeable. Voila! And you can easily apply the Sealer with the same brush you use for Lime Paint. Please see the sealer product page here for product information and application.

The best part is that Lime Paint is mold and mildew resistant. It won't trap any mold or moisture. This makes Lime Paint the perfect coating for bathrooms, mudrooms, tub and sink surrounds, and powder rooms. After applying 2 coats of Lime Paint in one of our curated colors, complete the job with Sealer. NOTE: Allow the final coat of lime paint finish to dry at least 2 days before applying the sealer on top.

For areas that are more exposed to occasional water splashes, such as soaking tub surrounds and backsplash walls, you may additionally use our Wax on top of the Sealer, for extra protection, or opt for Wax-sealer.
